In a world where entrepreneurship in the Indian entrepreneurship and market research and lots of analysis involving business plans, Kirti’s journey started with something personal, right from her own health transformation. Today, she is building a successful women-led start-up in India, encouraging thousands of people to adopt a healthy lifestyle through plant-based food and clean eating.
Kirti is originally from Kanpur and completed her computer science degree in 2005. She started her corporate journey in Bangalore and worked with leading companies like IBM, Target, and AIG. She found herself at the crossroads between corporate headlines and meeting the dream of creating something of her own, which stayed alive, but somewhere buried.
The turning point came after she was in her mom era. Taking a Sabbatical after the birth of her daughter gave her the space to reflect on her current priorities, health, and purpose of Living. What began as a personal Wellness journey was seen as being transformed into a larger mission for life, inspiring thousands of people.
She believed in conscious eating and a plant-based lifestyle, which Kirti experienced as the best health change. She found her health was being maintained, and her overall well-being was also seen to be improving. With her experience, she inspired a lot of women with the launch of KukClean, a growing plant-based startup in India that focuses on healthy living and mindful eating.
Before launching the products, Kirti became a certified nutritionist and started conducting coaching sessions in schools, colleges, and corporations wherever she got the opportunity. Being a passionate nutritionist entrepreneur in India, she focused on spreading awareness about clean eating and sustainable health habits.
What she realised with time was that education alone is not sufficient. People also require a diet and alternatives that are accessible, tasty, and practical for everyday life. Being the base of the startup, it gives birth to KukCleans’ product line, which includes vegan laddus, nuts, trail mixes, and healthy snacks made without dairy or preservatives. These are the simple versions of food that are suitable for people without compromising on taste.
Like any other founder, Kirti’s journey was also full of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles was educating consumers about the positives of plant-based lifestyles. According to her, awareness in India is growing, but at a very slow pace. Building trust in the market required patient consistency and constant community engagement. Despite all the challenges, this healthy food started by Kirti continues to grow steadily by setting up workshops, a WhatsApp community, and customer references.
She also highlighted the emotional side of entrepreneurship uncertainty, the uncertainty and self-doubt that come after it, and the constant pressure to keep moving forward even when the market is slowly evolving.
Kirti credits the startup ecosystem and wintership programs for helping her scale her vision. She was selected for the IIM Bangalore women’s startup program and later received the government grant support for entrepreneurship. These milestones strength and her confidence and validated her mission of building a mailing full women lead startup India, in the Wellness space. From community support to start-up incubators, every step KukClean moves closer to a larger field and vision.
Today, the brand has its own place and is expanding studies through corporate Wellness programs and B2B partnerships across Bangalore.
What makes Kirti’s journey even more inspiring is her perspective on women’s entrepreneurship. During the interview, she challenged the common questions for an hour, only to ask women like, “ How do you balance work and family?”
She pointed out that entrepreneurship is not gender based. According to her, both men and women need support systems, and success becomes easy when responsibilities are shared equally. Her honest thoughts added depth to this inspiring woman entrepreneur’s success story, making it relatable for many aspiring founders having similar challenges.
